| The end of the season. Phew! Four mares and foals and a three year old headed for Addington. Somewhat of a marathon but worth the effort. Dessie { Coogee Bay} was 4th in the Novice mare class and her foal by OBOS Quality won her class. Euphoria was second to the Champion and Cuddy Qualifier Little Alice, Pinkie {Langaller Eve'n Keel} was 3rd in the middleweights as was her foal. Big Bird won the Heavyweights continuing her unbeaten run including Great Yorkshire. pinkie then went on to win the Open Sports Horse Broodmare class and was Res. Champ of this section. Her foal again was 3rd. Hovis {Take The Biscuit} was pulled top and won the three year old gelding class, probably the strongest class of the show. He went on to be Champion male and Champion young horse by a Premium Stallion. In the evening gala he came head to head with the Champion female, another Devonian exhibit belonging to my friends Cathy Wood and Margaret Boyles. Hovis took the Supreme Championship. What a fantastic end to his In-Hand career to win at the very highest level. Many thanks go to his owner Julia Anderson for sending him to us for the season, we have so enjoyed having him and thankfully there is a whole packet of 'Bisuits' in the pipeline. |
