| Another show that has been blighted by bad weather over the last couple of years is North Devon. This year they bravely soldiered on and produced an excellent show albeit very muddy in the parking and walkways. This was our young heavyweight mares second show and her first open class. Both she and her foal won their classes and Big Bird went on to be Champion of the led hunters. She then won the broodmare Championship which carries a beautiful trophy. Her win made it the 6th time that we've won it andwith 6 different mares. In the afternoon she excelled herself by taking the Supreme Championship beating the Champions of all the other sections. I also took Jane Ellis's 3 year old hack Evening Chorus and her 3 year old Riding Horse Trenavey Consent. They both won their classes and stood Champion and Res Champion in the combined Championship. A very good day, 4 horses, 4 wins, 2 Championships, 1 ResChampion and 1 Supreme. What mud? ! |
