| Partly because it is on home ground for 'Hovis' we made the trip to Shropshire and West Midlands, although I think the now call it just West Midlands Show. This gave us the chance to take Langaller Eve'n Keel {Pinkie} and her foal on their second outing as well as, of course Hovis. Not a bad class of broodmares were forward and I am pleased to be able to report that both mare and foal won their classes as they did on their debut at Surrey County. A very disappointing 3 class ment that only 2 entries were forward and Hovis had to settle for second place to the eventual Champion. Much to our surprise our foal Langaller Hunting Pink was Reserve Champion led hunter! Both the mare and the foal won a trophy for winning their indiviual classes but sadly they hadn't been returned by last years winners and so were not able to be presented. It may seem petty but the cost in time and effort to prepare and travel these horses up and down the country to recieve little more than the entry fee returned in prize money plus a piece of coloured ribbon and then not to be able to have the trophy on the mantlepiece takes the edge off it just a bit.
