To join the resident stallions for 2008 we are pleased to introduce to you the pure-bred Irish Draught stallion Sandy’s Light. He is truly an outstanding representative of the breed being both short-coupled and deep with exceptional limbs, a very good hind leg and an exception foreleg and yet possessing very loose movement on the flat and a real ‘snap’ over a fence. He is the richest of Liver Chesnut’s almost ‘red’ in fact with just two small white socks and a narrow blaze. He is the epitome of the old fashioned quality heavyweight. As you’d expect from his breeding he has an amazing temperament and is very easy to handle and polite in his attitude. For the purebred enthusiast he has a pedigree that contains a wealth of leading names and families including Skippy, Western Pride, Colman and Legaun Prince. Standing at 16.3hh and with 10” of bone he is the perfect partner for the lighter framed Thoroughbred and part-bred mares whilst his quality ensures the match on the stronger or pure-bred mares. Not surprisingly he has already sired County winning foals and hunter and sports horse youngstock. Please come and see him in the flesh, he is even better than in his photograph’s!
